Symphyotrichum novae-angliae
Symphyotrichum novae-angliae
Common Name :
New England Aster
Bees and butterflies (including Monarchs) love New England Aster. Violet to deep purple daisy-like flowers with yellow centers bloom from late summer to early fall. This variety can grow upwards of six feet; pruning it early in the season will promote bushier growth. Easily identifiable because of its hairy stems and leaves.
