With its narrow stem and clusters of shiny yellow flowers, Flat-Top Goldentop attracts long and short-tongued bees, butterflies, and friendly beetles. Swamp Sparrows and Eastern Goldfinches like to feed on its seeds. This plant can be aggressive, so it’s not the best choice for smaller growing areas. Likes wet soil conditions and full sun, but can adapt to less sunny, drier conditions. Although it is not a “true” Goldenrod (Solidago), it provides many of the same ecological benefits.
